Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected by Nooma Logic via the website located at noomalogic.com.

What is “personal information”?

The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) currently defines “personal information” as meaning information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable: whether the information or opinion is true or not; and whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.

If the information does not disclose your identity or enable your identity to be ascertained, it will in most cases not be classified as “personal information” and will not be subject to this privacy policy.

What information do we collect?

The kind of personal information that we collect from you will depend on how you use the website. The personal information which we collect and hold about you may include: name, phone, email, website and business information, and what you type into the website’s tools.

How we collect your personal information

We may collect personal information from you whenever you input such information into the website.

We also collect cookies from your computer which enable us to tell when you use the website and also to help customise your website experience. As a general rule, however, it is not possible to identify you personally from our use of cookies.

Purpose of collection

We collect personal information so we can respond to your enquiries, provide the services and tools you ask for, and run and improve the website.

Some parts of the website are interactive tools, such as Where to Start with AI. When you use one, we collect what you type into it, along with the contact details you give us. We use this to produce your results, send them to you, and contact you about them. Please don’t enter sensitive information, or personal information about other people, into these tools.

We disclose personal information only to service providers who help us run the website and our business, such as website hosting, email delivery and customer-record providers. We disclose it only so they can provide those services to us. We do not sell personal information. Your personal information may also be seen from time to time by maintenance and support personnel acting in the normal course of their duties.

Marketing messages

We send marketing emails or text messages only in two cases. The first is where you have asked to receive them, for example by ticking a box on one of our forms or subscribing to our newsletter. The second is where you are a current client and the message relates directly to the services we provide to you. We do not treat your use of this website, or the fact that you have sent us an enquiry, as consent to marketing. Boxes asking for your consent are never ticked in advance.

Giving us your details to receive something you asked for, such as your results from a tool, a quote or a reply to an enquiry, means we will send you that and follow up on it. It does not add you to a marketing list.

Every marketing message we send identifies Nooma Logic, and includes our contact details and a free, easy way to unsubscribe. Unsubscribing stops all marketing messages from us, not only some, and we action requests within five business days. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing hello@noomalogic.com.

If you give us a phone number, we may call you about the enquiry or results you sent us. We do not make marketing calls to you unless you have agreed to them.

For marketing we only use information we collected directly from you. We never use sensitive information for marketing, and we do not buy or rent marketing lists. We keep a record of when and how you gave your consent.

Access and correction

Australian Privacy Principle 12 permits you to obtain access to the personal information we hold about you in certain circumstances, and Australian Privacy Principle 13 allows you to correct inaccurate personal information subject to certain exceptions. If you would like to obtain such access, please contact us as set out below.

Complaint procedure

If you have a complaint concerning the manner in which we maintain the privacy of your personal information, please contact us as set out below. All complaints will be considered by the Directors and we may seek further information from you to clarify your concerns. If we agree that your complaint is well founded, we will, in consultation with you, take appropriate steps to rectify the problem. If you remain dissatisfied with the outcome, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Overseas transfer

Some of our service providers, including our hosting, email and customer-record providers, are located in or store information in the United States. Your personal information may be transferred overseas or stored overseas for a variety of reasons. It is not possible to identify each and every country to which your personal information may be sent. If your personal information is sent to a recipient in a country with data protection laws which are at least substantially similar to the Australian Privacy Principles, and where there are mechanisms available to you to enforce protection of your personal information under that overseas law, we will not be liable for a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles if your personal information is mishandled in that jurisdiction. If your personal information is transferred to a jurisdiction which does not have data protection laws as comprehensive as Australia’s, we will take reasonable steps to secure a contractual commitment from the recipient to handle your information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How to contact us about privacy

If you have any queries, or if you seek access to your personal information, or if you have a complaint about our privacy practices, you can contact us at hello@noomalogic.com.
